The sermon title was "A Living Hope" and the scripture was I Peter 1:3-9. God is offering us hope - a living hope through Christ. Even though the world around us can be chaotic and messy, the hope that God offers, never fails.

Dear Friends,
This past Sunday was another wonderful morning of worship. The weather had a cool crisp to it and it just seemed that God's presence was all around us. I love this time of year and love even more when we are together in worship and fellowship. After worship, we had our annual Thanksgiving luncheon and we were joined by Florida Faith Church who is meeting in Eden Hall until renovations are complete at the International Swimming Hall of Fame! It was an amazing time of fellowship and just being together.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I hope each one of us will ask God to be more thankful for all of His blessings. Blessings that are good and enjoyable and blessings that cause us distress and usually a lot more growth. God can and does work in all things.
As you all know we are trying to finish up our Stewardship Campaign - if you are a member of this church, or call this church your home please pray about what you can give to the work and mission of Church By The Sea. I look forward to all of us meeting this goal. You can call the church, or email Randy at Admin@thechurchbythesea.org with your pledge.
I hope we all have a great week and I look forward to seeing you all in worship this Sunday. Peace, Love, and Grace.
***Our Christmas Gala is December 7th at Lago Mar Beach Club on December 7th!! The cost is $125 per person. We will have dinner, dancing and an overall amazing time together. The sermon title was "Two Kingdoms" and the scripture was Matthew 13:44-46 and Acts 2:42-47. We have two kingdoms. The kingdom of God and the kingdom of earth. God's kingdom is without sin, selfishness, and cruelty. There is no pain, or tears. The kingdom of earth is filled with hurt, sin, selfishness, and cruelty. Jesus came to bring the kingdom of God to earth. Jesus prayed, "On earth as it is in heaven."

Dear Friends,
What an amazing Sunday here at Church! We had a "Throwback Sunday". Alan Ruf, a long-time member, brought the message along with Cheri Evans-Schmidt and Bruce Barclay. The order of worship was what was used from the early days. It was a powerful Sunday. Alan spoke about pillars of the church. Men and women who stood up and helped make Church By The Sea what it is. The music, the prayers, the message all lead us to God's presence! When Alan spoke of some of the pillars, he left off one - Himself! Alan has served this church for over 40 years. He is a pillar. A person who serves God through this church. Thank you, Alan for a wonderful worship service and your friendship!
We have our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon after worship this Sunday. The church will supply the main dish and we are asking you all to bring a side dish, salad, or a dessert. Please call the church office to let us know you are coming!
As you all know Church By The Sea is asking the congregation to support a budget of $560,000 for 2020. As of November 12th, we have 47 pledges totaling $212,446.00. If you are a member of this church, or call this church your home please pray about what you can give to the work and mission of Church By The Sea. I look forward to all of us meeting this goal. You can call, or email Randy at Admin@thechurchbythesea.org with your pledge.
I hope we all have a great week and I look forward to seeing you all in worship this Sunday. Peace, Love, and Grace.

Dear Friends,
Boat Show has come and gone and wow, was traffic hectic!! It is an amazing thing to see and great for our economy, not to mention our church as we opened our parking lot for the attendees of the Show. Thank you to our Men's Club for being out there and braving the heat. We raised over $6,500 for our Men's Ministry.
This past Sunday was All Saint's Day which is a time we recognize all those people who have passed on into God's presence since last November. It is a somber time where we remember those people and all those who have passed that have helped shape who we are today. May God's peace flood all those who have lost loved ones this past year!
As you all know Church By The Sea is asking the congregation to support a budget of $560,000 for 2020. I want to encourage you all to pray about what you will give to financially support the work and ministry of this church. I look forward to all of us meeting this goal. Please pray about what you can give and return the pledge card back or email Randy at Admin@thechurchbythesea.org by November 10th.
I hope we all have a great week and I look forward to seeing you all in worship this Sunday. Peace, Love, and Grace.

The sermon title was "The More Cycle" and the scripture was Matthew 25:14-29. Everything in our world pushes us for more and that is not a bad thing but it can lead us to never being satisfied with what we have. We need to do the best with what God give us.

Dear Friends,
Well, Sunday was an interesting day at Church By The Sea. Laryngitis set in and I had to get help from church members to lead worship. Yesterday, also was the beginning of our stewardship campaign for 2020, so with my voice failing and stewardship kicking off - it made for an interesting worship. Thank you to Jon Gardner for sharing his heart with us regarding what he loves about CBTS and why he gives.
You will be receiving in the mail this week a letter from Mike Heller, our Clerk of Session, who will be sharing with you all about our budget expectations for 2020. We have so much to be thankful for at this great church. I hope each one of you (who call's this place home) will prayerfully consider what you can give to the work and ministry of The Church By The Sea. We really need everyone to support CBTS with their time, talents, and financial resources. Please pray about what you can give and return the pledge card back to us by November 10th.
Trunk or Treat is on October 26th. Our church parking lot transforms into a spooktacular place where kids from all over walk from car trunk to car trunk - we will have music and food. We need more trunks, so please call Marie at church to register to decorate your trunk! As you can see we are in for a great Fall and Winter!
I hope we all have a great week and I look forward to seeing you all in worship this Sunday. Peace, Love, and Grace.

Sermon Recap
The sermon title was "The Gift of Giving" and the scripture was Luke 16:1-15. We all desire peace in our hearts and we try many things to accomplish that. Many helps and many only leads to the opposite of peace. Giving is a way of watching your hard earned dollars, your time, and your talents be used to serve God and His people. As you witness others being lifted up through God working through you; it is amazing the "peace that passes all understanding" that floods your heart.

We had another moving worship service on Sunday. Thank you to Chris Kane and our amazing choir for leading us right into God's holy presence! Sermon Recap
The sermon title was "A Kairos Moment" and the scripture was Esther 4:1-17. A Kairos moment is a moment when God makes a monumental step in our lives. It is when our life changes and we see all the little decisions that led up to that moment! This church has an amazing name and reputation in this community and world. I think God has been doing and will do something big with us. What is God asking of you?

Dear Friends,
Happy Monday to you all! We had an amazing day of worship last Sunday. It was a communion Sunday and those worship services always bring me into God's presence as we all are on one accord, sharing the elements and in a prayerful state. I hope it is as meaningful to you as well.
I am very excited about the Fall. We have so many things to be a part of and watch God move in different and creative ways. I hope you will download our church app (TheChurchByTheSea), so you can get the latest on how to serve and where to get involved. You can also look near the end of this email at the week in review for ministries and activities this week, or opportunities that are coming soon.
I hope we all have a great week and I look forward to seeing you all in worship this Sunday. Peace, Love, and Grace.
Sermon Recap
The sermon title was "Do You Want to Get Well?" and the scripture was John 5:1-15. Sometimes getting well adds a whole other set of problems which inhibits us in allowing Jesus to heal us from the inside out. Jesus challenges the invalid in three ways. First, stop looking for healing in the wrong place. Second, healing takes a risk and third, Jesus promises to not give up on us until, we are whole.

Dear Friends,
As a lot of us watch the tropics on a daily basis; praying for nothing to form - I fully understand how our lives may seem, so out of our control and be so unnerving! Our lives are out of our control and because of that. I hope you have placed your life in the hands of God. God promises us peace when the storms of life come, hope in the face of hopelessness, and strength for the journey. I know these thoughts sound a bit pie-in-the-sky, but for me they are so real. I hope you feel the same as I do.
Sunday was another amazing day of worship. Our worship was alive and powerful. We had a couple decide to join their hearts with us and become members. I look forward to introducing them to you soon.
Have a great week and I look forward to seeing you all in worship soon. Peace, Love, and Grace.

The sermon title was "An Offer You Can't Refuse" and the scripture was John 15:1-12. God offers us something that we can refuse, but hope you do not. God offers us peace, hope, grace and His love. Say yes!!

Dear Friends,
As we keep seeing more and more footage of the devastation that followed behind Hurricane Dorian, we pray and we act. I am so proud of our church and our community for all it is doing to help across the water, to our neighbors in the Bahamas. Let's all do what we can.
Sunday was an amazing day of worship. Our choir was at its finest and God seemed to be moving in all of our hearts, drawing us to Himself. Just like I told the children during children's time - God really has given gifts to each one of us, so let's use those gifts to bring hope to this world. I hope you all have a great week. I look forward to seeing you all in worship this Sunday. Peace, Love, and Grace.
Sermon Recap
The sermon title was "The Day the Cows Came Home" and the scripture was 1 Samuel 6:1-12 and Proverbs 3:3-6. Things do not happen by luck, or pure chance. I believe, things happen by the providence of God. God can weave all that happens, eventually, into something good. Trust in the Lord and He will direct your path!

Dear Friends,
What an amazing weekend as we prepared for our Anchors Aweigh! On Saturday morning, Trevor Carroll and a band of guys came over as we began to cook the pig and brisket. We had a great time getting everything ready. Thanks to Bill Peters and Teddy Cook for taking home a brisket and smoking it for about 13 hours! Thanks to Josh Edler, Sam Koster, Tom Maus and their boys, Sammie and Ethan for coming over later to help pull apart the pig. Anchors Aweigh was a huge success in large parts to its champion Tamika Greenwood! Thank you Tamika. Thank you to all who were able to come. I look forward to seeing many new faces involved with the ministries of this great church.
The younger children had a fantastic time with Salty Sue and the older kids had a great time as well ending with a huge scavenger hunt. Thank you Marie, our youth, and all the children's volunteers for loving our children the way Jesus does!!
I look forward to seeing how God will use Anchors Aweigh as we move forward! I hope you all have a great week. I look forward to seeing you all in worship this Sunday. Peace, Love, and Grace.
